Wedding Day Accessory Guide
Date Posted:10 March 2020
So your big day is almost here and now it's time to organise all the little jobs you may have been putting off. Make sure you have all the perfect accessories for your wedding by following our handy guide!
For the Bride
Rings: Organise to have your engagement ring and wedding ring cleaned by your jeweller a few days beforehand to ensure they look fabulous in photos.
Bridal Jewellery: Make sure you have all your jewellery ready ahead of time. Don't forget to bring them into your local jeweller the week before to get them professionally cleaned so they can be extra sparkly on the big day.
Hair Accessories: While a beautiful white Veil is a more traditional option, a lot of our modern brides like to incorporate sparkly headpieces or hair clips into their look.
Wedding Heels: We suggest getting a pair with a minimal heel or having a pair of flats handy to put on when you hit the dance floor.
Clutch: This needs to be fashionable and functional, a good space to store all your wedding day essentials. Give this to your maid-of-honor to look after for the night
Underneath: Don't forget your garter, shapewear and wedding lingerie (this is for later).
Perfume: Have it close for a last-minute spritz before walking down the aisle.
For the Groom
Ring: Undeniably the most important accessory for the Groom ... his wedding ring! We suggest getting this cleaned professionally the week beforehand as well.
Cufflinks: One way that the groom can personalise his look is with a nice pair of cufflinks.
Watch: Make sure he shows up on time with a stylish watch.
Bow-tie or Tie: What will it be ... the bow-tie or the tie. An important question for the men in attendance.
Belt: Something important that shouldn't be forgotten.
Shoes: Give your husband-to-be a gentle reminder to give them a polish a few days beforehand. Got to be extra shiny!
Funky Socks: A fun idea is to have the groom and all his groomsmen wear the same funky socks. It will make for some great wedding photos.
The week before: Take your engagement ring and both wedding rings to your local jeweller to get them to give them a final clean, buff and polish. Most jewellers will do this for free if you are returning to where you purchased them.
Bridesmaids and Flowergirls
Jewellery: It may not be on the top of your list but ensuring that all your bridesmaids and flower girls have their jewellery organised is extremely important. Your wedding photos will thank you for it.
Hair Accessories: A pretty tiara or flower halo will make your flower girls feel extra special.
Petals & Basket: A small but important part
Matching Heels/flats: Heels for the bridesmaids during the ceremony and back-up dancing shoes. Don't forget sparkly ballet slippers for the flower girls.
Clutch: Just big enough to store a phone, lipstick, bandaids, and safety pins ... all the essentials.
Groomsmen and Page Boys
Cufflinks: These can be matching or each groomsman can bring their own to suit their personal styles.
Ties or Bow-Ties: Matching ties or bow-ties for the groomsmen. Little bow-ties for the page boys always look super cute.
Ring Pillow: Must not be forgotten!
Funky Socks: As we said above, a fun idea is to have the groom and all his groomsmen wear the same funky socks. It will make for some great wedding photos. The page boys can get in on this too!
Shoes: Some nice shiny leather shoes to make sure they are all looking smart.
